Convert a Relay statement

Drop in a Relay CSV and get back a .ofx, .qif, .iif or a spreadsheet, with a balance check that proves nothing was dropped. Not a .qbo — that format names an institution identifier, and Relay has none.

No sign-up needed. Files never leave your browser.

Intuit's directory splits banks into two groups that sound alike and are not. Web Connect means the bank publishes a statement file you can download. Express Web Connect means Intuit connects to the bank itself and no file exists at any stage. Relay is in the second group.

Relay is aimed squarely at businesses that work with a bookkeeper, which makes the absence of a Web Connect file download conspicuous. Its directory record is Express Web Connect only, so the CSV export converts here without an institution identifier.

The conversion runs in this browser tab. Your statement is read from disk into memory, parsed and written back out as a download, without crossing the network. That matters more than usual when the account belongs to a client rather than to you.

Nothing needs configuring first. A single signed amount column works, and so does a split debit and credit layout. Junk rows above the real header are skipped. Totals rows at the bottom are left out and counted, so you can see what was ignored.

Balance validation

A converter that tells you when it missed something.

Most tools hand you a file and let you find out in your ledger. Every conversion here is reconciled against the closing figure first. That figure is read from your statement’s balance column, or typed in from the page when there isn’t one.

When the totals don’t meet you get the exact size of the gap, every row that did read, and the converted file anyway.

Client statements never leave the tab

Conversion runs in your browser, in JavaScript on this page.

No server copy

Closing the tab discards the file and everything read out of it. There is nothing to delete later and nothing to breach.

Nothing to opt out of

There is no upload step to decline, because there is no upload. Open your browser's network tab and convert. You will see no request carrying your data.

Keeps working with the network off

Once this page has loaded, conversion runs with no connection at all. Useful on a client site with locked-down wifi. It also proves the file stays put.

Questions people actually ask

Why is there no QBO download on this page?

Because Relay has no institution identifier, and a .qbo is the Web Connect file — the format exists to carry one. An identifier is issued for Web Connect, the file download, and Relay is listed only for Express Web Connect, where the connection is made by Intuit rather than by a file. Rather than borrow another bank's number or write a Web Connect file with the tag left out, the format is closed here and OFX is offered instead. It carries the same transactions and names no institution, which is honest about having been assembled from a CSV.

Does my Relay statement get uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs inside your browser using JavaScript on this page. The file is read from your disk into memory, converted, and offered back as a download. Nothing is sent to a server, so there is nothing for us to store, log or delete. You can confirm this by opening your browser's network tab while you convert.

How do I know every transaction came through?

Every conversion shows a balance check above the results. If your file has a running balance column, the opening and closing balances are read from it automatically; otherwise you can type them in from your statement. The check adds up every converted transaction and compares the result to the closing balance, and tells you the exact amount of any difference.

What if my export has an unusual column layout?

Point at the columns yourself. If the layout cannot be read automatically, or is read wrongly, you can say which column is the date, which is the amount, and which is the description. The row count updates live as you do it, so a correct mapping is distinguishable from a plausible-looking one before anything is downloaded.

My dates came out wrong. What happened?

A date like 05/01/2026 is ambiguous: 5 January in the UK and most of Europe, 1 May in the US. Turn on the day-first option and the file is re-read immediately. If your statement contains a date that can only be day-first, such as 19/02, the converter points this out before you download.

The directory is Intuit's own list and changes as institutions are added, renamed or removed.

Try it on the statement that’s annoying you right now.

No account, no card, no limit. If the layout isn’t recognised you will know immediately, rather than after a support ticket.
